Glass can take a million years to break down.

Plastics can take up to 500 years to degrade, leaving microplastics behind. Wood breaks down much quicker, within 50 years. This means a traditional wood frame sofa with polyurethane foam, polyester fabric and steel springs could take 500 years or more to break down in a landfill.

Our Founder

Jennifer Baker Brown is always on the lookout for what’s next. She believes there is a better, more sustainable way to shop for well-designed home decor and furnishings that doesn’t involve bidding wars, poorly lit warehouses, or dusty shelves.

Jennifer is a creative professional, strategist, and brand consultant with a special passion for designing sustainable solutions. For over a decade, she worked on advertising and marketing projects with top fashion publishing, consumer, and non-profit brands.

In 2017, she stepped back from her career to complete a master's degree in sustainability. Her research centered around circular business models that shift business-as-usual and present new ways to access the things we need. Jennifer is a climate optimist, aware of the gravity of our impacts in the Anthropocene, and hopeful that innovation can positively affect our trajectory.
